Rather their purpose is to improve the value of your site to Google and Yahoo by virtue of creating quality incoming links. PageRank Value (PR) - An indication (ranging from 0 to 10) given by Google's toolbar on the importance of a web page, measured (primarily) by the number of links pointing to it. As the scale is logarithmic, it is increasingly difficult to increase the PR of a page. Thus, it is many times harder to climb from 5 to 6 than it is from 4 to 5. Obtaining a link from a high PR page can significantly boost the linked to page in the relevant search results. Choose Directories with high PR, especially in a category relevant to your site. Do not use Directories that do not pass PR, as they will add no value to your link campaign. Therefore I have listed only up to Pagerank 3 directories. |
